About KP Group

Building India's Green Energy Future

Founded in 1994 by Dr. Faruk G. Patel, KP Group has grown from a logistics service provider into a diversified business group headquartered in Surat, Gujarat, India. It has expanded into renewable energy, engineering, infrastructure, and allied sectors, helping shape India’s evolving energy landscape.

The Group’s journey reflects more than three decades of ambition, strategic expansion and disciplined execution. Today, it is focused on advancing India’s energy transition through renewable power generation, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and emerging energy solutions.

As KP Group looks ahead, its ambition reaches beyond business growth. It aims to build the capabilities, infrastructure and enduring institutions that can power a more sustainable, energy-secure India.

KP 3.0

Powering India's Next Energy Era

Integrating renewable energy, storage and green infrastructure to power India’s future.

KP 3.0 marks the next phase of KP Group’s evolution, built on scale, institutional strength and an integrated clean-energy ecosystem. Drawing on its capabilities across solar, wind, engineering and infrastructure, the Group has set three targets for FY32:

10 GWp

Owned Generation

Owned renewable energy generation

10 GWp

Third-Party EPC

Engineering, procurement and construction projects for customers

10 GWh

Energy Storage

Battery energy storage capacity, cell manufacturing to BESS assembly

Beyond the Core

Beyond these core platforms, the roadmap extends into battery cell manufacturing, floating solar, green hydrogen and ammonia, and power trading, with offshore wind and pumped-storage projects under exploration.

In Gujarat, we plan to set up battery storage assembly and cell production facilities, with production beginning in FY28 and FY29 respectively.

Manufacturing & Global Expansion

The manufacturing ambitions of 3.0 include tubular towers, hot-rolling, container manufacturing, cables and conductors, aluminium extrusion and other engineered products.

International expansion is also on the agenda, with opportunities across Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia and GCC (Saudi Arabia, UAE).

These investments are backed by a stronger foundation: improved governance, clearer business structures and a commitment to long-term institutional growth. Together, they reflect a larger ambition: to build the generation, engineering, storage and emerging-energy capabilities that will power India’s transition to a more reliable and sustainable energy future.

Building a Legacy Beyond Business

Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, has shaped his entrepreneurial journey around a purpose larger than commercial success. Since 1994, he has steered the Group’s expansion across renewable energy, green engineering and infrastructure, helping power India’s transition to clean energy.

His vision extends equally to people and communities. Through the KP Human Development Foundation, he champions initiatives in education, healthcare and community development. Among them is Prabhu Nu Ghar, a residential home for older persons with disabilities, where care and dignity come first.

For Dr. Patel, success is measured not by what is built, but by what endures. He believes in creating institutions that advance sustainability, open doors of opportunity and deliver lasting social impact, a legacy that reaches well beyond business.

Their mantra is ‘Human First’.
